PAG at the Chiropractic Wellness Center, Vista
PAG has found a second home in Vista at the Chiropractic Wellness Center. The Wellness Center exhibits our photography, along with other artwork from local artists, in the halls of the medical offices. Located in the heart of downtown Vista, the Wellness Center is part of the Vista art community and hosts an artist reception the first Saturday of every show.For more information on the Vista Chiropractic Wellness Center, please contact the center at 760-726-9660 or stop by the offices located at 115 Main St in Vista.
Current Show - Portals and Pathways
By choosing the theme Pathways and Portals I am hoping to inspire the artist to
interpretation and creativity, to brainstorm and stretch their talents. Many of
you might have "just the picture" that fits the theme and that's fabulous!
However for some of you I challenge you to ponder, dream about the meaning and
to create a new work. Alternate methods that enhance the theme are an option as
well. Below are some ideas to inspire you:
Pathways:Garden Path, Stepping Stone Path, Snail Trail, Sea Wall, Maps,
Trailhead Signs, City Sidewalk, Cat Walk, Directions, Hiking Paths, A Track,
Footway, Avenue, Passage, Alley, route, Aisle, Canal, Runway, Channel, Rock
Climber choosing his route, a foggy path……
A pathway is also a course in which something moves: Orbit, rut, groove, loop,
lap, journey, rails, trajectory, sphere, compass, Circumference, (this makes me
think of carnival rides) A pathway is also a course of action, conduct or
procedure, method, behavior, life, career, plan.
Portals:Gates, Entrances, Gateway, Entry Door, Doorway, Portico, Vestibule,
Approach, Threshold, Portcullis, Arch, Tunnels, Whirlpool, Eye of Hurricane,
Windows, Subterranean Tunnels, Cisterns, Sky and Cloud patterns, Eyes, Shapes
that mimic portals (a hole through clouds), Patterns that look like portals
(looking down a staircase), reflective things
Other more obscure ideas: A headstone could be a symbol of a portal to the next
world. Water dripping down something could be a pathway, birds flying in a
formation could be a flight path, migrating animals or butterflies are following
an innate journey or pathway, A person studying a map, train tracks splitting in
two directions, forks in the road or trail, a garden globe might look like a
portal, a door open to a dark cellar or light spilling out. PAG Meetings
